The Community College Consortium for Biosciences Credentialsc3bc logo (c3bc) located at Forsyth Technical Community College (Forsyth Tech), has made the first of many course resources available within the NCLOR. Forsyth Tech along with a Department of Labor Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training grant (DOL TAACCCT),  has redeveloped the introductory bioscience courses in order to reduce barriers to student success.  The first course available is the “Introduction to Chemistry (CHM 131)” course consists of structured learning objects.

This course introduces the fundamental concepts of inorganic chemistry. Topics include measurement, matter and energy, atomic and molecular structure, nuclear chemistry, stoichiometry, chemical formulas and reactions, chemical bonding, gas laws, solutions, and acids and bases. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of chemistry as it applies to other fields.  The content has been organized in units and module for ease of use and for supplementing current CHM 131 courses.

The NCCCS courses that these resource may supplement are: CHM131.
